      <description><![CDATA[This kiva is from the earlier Anasazi habitations on the mesa top prior to the move to the more protected cliff dwellings which have fascinated visitors for decades. Kivas are thought to be ceremonial, religous or communal gathering places similar to our churches today. The kivas were built underground and featured a bench around the preimeter, a ladder into the kiva and a depression carved in stone where offerings or other items were placed.       <description><![CDATA[Central Florida has a considerable number of lakes for many reasons. One is the shallow water table, another is due to Karst Topography where underground limestone caverns collapse leaving 'dents' in the landscape known as sinkholes. Over time the sinkholes can fill up to form lakes.
