David I noticed you article on creating 3D text in google earth using Elefont and Sketchup. The good news is that me and another ruby programmer have recently written a ruby plugin for sketchup that will allow people to create 3D text from within Sketchup Pro or the Free version using a tool from the dropdown menu in SketchUp. You will be able to select from a standard library of fonts - around 70 charactersets in the first release. Change the colors of the face, sides or edges. Scale to any side and place in any orientation. Edit the text etc. It will save people lots of time over the method you were explaining in your tutorial. People will also be able to add new fonts to the library if they wish.
